Real Madrid are in talks over a possible move for Yann Diomandé. Although the deal has not yet been finalized, everything suggests that the Spanish giants are finally set to sign the young Ivorian talent for a transfer fee of more than €130 million. Spanish journalist David Sánchez commented on the potential transfer on Radio Marca’s “La Tribu” show.
Real Madrid targeting their own ‘Lamine Yamal’
David Sánchez highlighted the huge excitement among Real fans over the player’s potential arrival. But he also compared him to the current young icon of Spanish football, saying: “What Real Madrid are doing is trying to have a Lamine Yamal of their own in the squad for next season.”
Barcelona’s 19-year-old champion
David Sánchez believes Barcelona already have a 19-year-old player with a more promising present and future. He also noted that the Barça winger has already won major trophies with the Spanish national team, adding: “Barcelona already have a 19-year-old player with a brighter future than Diomandé, and who is already a European and world champion.”
Barça’s position ahead of the group stage
Sánchez believes Barcelona are also in an advantageous position as a team. According to him, Barça have already established their own style and only need minor adjustments to compete more effectively in the toughest tournaments: “Barcelona already play very good football, and they only need a few fine-tunes to be more reliable — especially in the knockout stages of the Champions League.”
Meanwhile, another journalist in the country, David Bernabéu, commented that Barcelona have “crushed” Real Madrid, noting that Barça have won five trophies in the last two years and six out of the last seven El Clásicos.
